Parent Resources
 Typical Speech Language Development

Language
We believe that simple, everyday activities can help to expand and develop your child’s speech and language skills.  These include playing games, reading and talking about books, listening to music, talking about daily activities and playing with sounds.

Speech/Articulation-
how speech sounds are made (e.g., children must learn how to produce the "c" sound in order to say "cat" instead of "tat").
Articulation activities to do at home

Fluency- the rhythm of speech (e.g., hesitations or stuttering can affect fluency).  The following site is a very useful resource if you are concerned about your child's fluency:  http://www.stutteringhelp.org/

This site is meant to be a resource for parents, but if you have specific questions about your child's communication, please speak with your child's speech-language pathologist.
